I love books

It's been a while since I read this book but it is still fresh in my mind.

Great writing and a wonderful world.

Definitely recommended!

It went into several directions, keeping me wondering what was about to happen next, up to the end.

Maze is the sequel to Daughter of Darkness. Maze is written in the same fast, powerful style. Ame, the main person from Daughter of Darkness, gives the reader her look on life, humans (because she is different) and what they do to each other. Her life hasn't been easy and in book two things have changed for Ame, but not always for the better.

Join Ame in the next stage in her life. Learn about the way she looks at everything and the ways in which she tries to help others.

This is the first book by Wallace M. Greensage. I enjoyed reading it. It's not the genre I write (no fantasy, no scifi) but a real life, modern day story that could happen for real. We meet a couple who are strangers to nudism who are on their vacation on a fictional island. The island is described very well - it made me want to move there and spend all my days at Barcelona Beach. Yes, there's nudism in the story, as well as mention of naked people. If that bothers you then this is not a book for you.

The story has a nice twist that has to do with a rather nasty man and his companions who make the vacation of the couple less fun than they had expected. Does it end well? I'll leave that open so you can enjoy the story yourself.

Fantastic read by Ray Bradbury. Of course I am biased; I love everything I've read by him. This story takes the reader into the innards of a film studio where long time ago one of the leaders of that industry died. At least, everyone knows he did. But did he? More and more details about this man come to life after death.

Found as a steampunk book, the story started different from what I had expected. It soon turned into a wonderful, creative read that ended too soon. I love the way the story moves and also the writing is excellent. I promise I won't be jealous. Okay, not too long.

If you like magic, automatons and surprises, then "Magic under glass" is for you.

During my vacation I devoured this book.

Sometimes you come across a book that will prevent you from opening another book for a while. A book that has a story that won’t leave you alone even in your dreams. For me, Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman is such a book. It’s about London. Everywhere and neverwhere in London. If you’ve been to London you’ll recognise many places and spots, but Mr Gaiman paints such an amazing world in and around the city that it grabbed me by the eyeballs and it refuses to let them go. It had this stunning duality where I wanted to get to the last page to see how it ended but at the same time I did not want the story to end!

Neverwhere is high up there with the best stories of Ray Bradbury and Terry Pratchett for me. It wasn’t a read. It was an experience. When I grow up I want to write like that.

If you want to read a funny book with a very interesting storyline, you need to read this book. If there hadn't been a concept called "plot twist" yet it would have been invented for this story as it's filled with them. Something new and unexpected is around every page corner.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would award it six stars if possible. I'm currently enjoying book 2 in the series and so far it's just as good!

Libriomancer is a great book. Note that this is my opinion. It introduces a fabulous and (to me) new way to use magic, and it deals with (how surprising) books and people who do wonderful stuff with them. And people who do less than wonderful stuff too.

Ksenia Anske is a fascinating writer. She's Russian, lives in Seattle and writes weird stuff. People love her for that; her and her books.

She also writes great articles on writing and her life on her blog.

I've started reading Rosehead for an odd reason. She once said (on twitter) that she will write a book about a talking cat once she's written all the books she still wants to write.

On that I responded that I will write a book about a writer who will write a book about a talking cat once she's written all the books she still wants to write.

For this to have some fighting chance I have to read at least one of her books. So that's why I started reading Rosehead. And now I'm reading it because I love the weird stuff that's in there.

Yes, I'm still here and (of course) I'm still reading.

Reviews of those books will not come soon though as I'm alpha- and beta-reading things - books of fellow writers that need attention and a second pair of eyes to confirm consistency and so forth.

I've read through quite a lot of the book and it's definitely a different read.

I've stopped reading though. The way the book is set up (a combination of letter, diary entries and letters) makes it too hard for me to follow along. Somehow my brain doesn't connect with this kind of story-telling.

I'm a member of the Alexandria Publishing Group. It's a nice group of people, and I was asked to read a book by Linda Hall, one of our members. A book that's not published yet.

It is sort of special, I think, to read something that's not out there yet. The book is a mystery (called "Night Watch", not related to the book by Terry Pratchett with the same title) and even though I'm not known for reading mysteries this is one that grabbed me by the eyes after the first few pages.

Once I've read the book I'll wait with posting a review until after the book's out but if you like mystery then this one would be a good one for you.

I was literally blown away by this book. Miss Austen produced a magnificent book with Pride and Prejudice. It’s witty and funny, and it also allowed me to have a peek into the way of life in that time. The difference in status and ‘importance’ between men and women was immense. But also it made me see how much life has progressed. For instance details like travel. A stretch of road that we’re used to do in about an hour by car would take more than half a day in those days!

It’s very unfortunate that Jane Austen died at so young an age; the world lost a brilliant writer far too soon.

So far 'Pride and Prejudice' is an impressive and also very entertaining read!
